JOB VACANCY- INTERNAL CONTROL ANALYST

Job description: 

·      Carry out annual process and policy review to ensure that such processes are adequate, functional and conform to industry standards.

·      Identify other process improvement opportunities/process gaps as they arise and champion improvement initiatives.

·      Analyze impact of proposed process changes across the business and engage stakeholders for appropriate recommendations.

·      Maintain and update the policy and SOP records from time to time.

· Perform control reviews and approve clients and proprietary transactions before consummation.

·      Assist in maintaining optimum control environment.

·      Perform post transaction reviews and call-overs to ensure transactions were performed in line with the organization's policy.

·      Develop an approach for analyzing the performance and effectiveness of key processes.

·  Review and report on level of compliance with all implemented policy and procedure documents and incorporate agreed solutions to process gaps.

·      Work alongside the team lead to oversee the process for incident reports, maintain records for work processes, and providing technical guidance to personnel.

·      Create plans for streamlining work processes and oversee the testing and implementation of them.

·      Conduct risk assessment of departments/functional areas in accordance with timelines.

·      Conduct audit testing of potential risk areas and identify reportable issues.

·      Actively participate in the development of Internal Control policies.

Job requirements:

·      BSc in accounting or other finance related discipline.

·      A relevant professional qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, CIS is desirable.

·   Minimum of 2years' experience in a similar role with a Big 4 accounting or a financial services/ retail investment management institution.
