Never stop, never settle!

I was usually embarrassed by the fact that I attended Yaba College of Technology and ended up with Higher National Diploma. I didn’t even graduate with a good passing grade.

For a long time, I associated it with the fact that I was not good enough to get the scores that would get me into a University so I settled for a ND/HND Programme.

Also, the cool places I really wanted to work clearly didn’t consider HND holders.

    But:

    • My OND formed the basis to start my ICAN journey and qualify at the age of 21.

    • My HND and ICAN formed the basis for my ACCA journey.

    • My ACCA journey formed the basis for my B.Sc. Degree from Oxford Brookes University

    • My B.Sc. and ICAN formed the basis for my employment in Deloitte.

Since my career started, it has not mattered which school I did or did not go to.

Some of us have very humble beginnings, false starts, derailments, failures and a host of other things that seem to give others a competitive advantage and the easiest thing would be to complain about how life is unfair.

However, the problem really starts when we accept and settle for those challenging circumstances as the norm.

With the right mindset, the journey might be longer or harder, but we will eventually get ahead.

    Never stop. Never settle.
